Budgeting for a studio shoot is easy to put off. You find a space you like, get excited, and then realise the numbers don’t match what you had planned. A little research up front saves that surprise.
This guide explains what drives the cost of studio hire in Dublin, so you know what to expect before you book.
What Affects the Cost of Studio Hire in Dublin?
The cost of hiring a studio isn’t a fixed number. It changes with several factors, and knowing what drives the price helps you choose well. Here is what typically affects it:
● Studio size – bigger spaces with higher ceilings naturally cost more
● Equipment included – lighting rigs, cycloramas, and backdrops, all of which add real value
● Booking duration – hourly rates look different from half-day or full-day packages
● Facilities on-site – makeup rooms, green rooms, and kitchenettes factor into pricing
● Location – city center studios carry a premium, but save time on travel and logistics
● Type of shoot – photography, film, podcast, and dance spaces are each priced differently
Worth knowing all of this before comparing options. Price alone tells only part of the story.
What Does Fade Street Studios Offer?

Fade Street Studios operates across three floors of a converted silverware factory right in Dublin’s Creative Quarter. Each space has been built around a specific creative purpose. Not just fitted out generically and given a name.
Three spaces are available:
● Studio A – a fully equipped photography studio in Dublin with a white cyclorama wall, coloured backdrops, makeup room, changing room and kitchenette
● Studio B – an impressive 8m x 8m open space with 8m ceilings and Victorian windows. A large green room is included. Perfect for exhibitions, editorial shoots, and events
● Studio C – a dedicated podcast studio in Dublin with a full multicam setup built for high-quality recordings
Pricing reflects what each space actually includes. Not just the floor space.
You can see the current hourly rate for each studio, before VAT, on our booking page, and read more about each room on the Studios page.
Who Should Consider Hiring a Studio in Dublin?
Studio hire starts to make sense when you weigh it against what poor results cost: reshoots, extra editing time and missed deadlines. A proper studio is worth budgeting for if you are:
● A photographer who needs reliable, controlled lighting on every shoot
● A brand or business running product campaigns or seasonal shoots
● A content creator building a consistent, high-quality visual presence
● A podcaster wanting clean audio alongside professional multicam video
● An event organizer needing a flexible, centrally located Dublin venue
● A dance group or theatre company that needs a real open rehearsal space
The right studio genuinely pays for itself in the quality of what you produce.
When Is Hiring a Studio Actually Worth the Cost?
Hiring a studio is worth it when:
● Your project needs professional-grade results; a home setup simply cannot match
● Privacy, consistency, and repeatability across the shoot are non-negotiable
● The day involves multiple setups, looks, or formats back-to-back
● A client or brand expects a polished, high-quality finish on delivery
● Time is tight, and a fully ready space saves hours of setup and adjustment
Cutting corners on the space usually costs more in the end. Reshoots are rarely cheap.
